Boundary Street is a street with strong historical and geographical significance, as it is known to be the dividing line between Kowloon and the New Territories. The large apartment houses two generations of a family

Inspired by the characteristics of the neighborhood, a system of ornamental screens with different porosities was created to blur the boundaries between private and social spaces. The screens look like a porous open lattice panel or a solid partition with the same ornamental pattern

Each "generation" occupies a designated part of the house, but with common meeting places located either in the heart of the apartment or on the rooftop terrace. Therefore, the areas where they are connected together served as the backbone that shaped the design and layout. The private areas were conceptualized as studios within a house' for a sense of privacy between users

The communal area between the two private zones is conceptualized as a space for 'butterflies', an energetic space for family interactions. The communal space also features several simple, white walls, ready for the display of family photographs and artwork. On one side lies the suite consisting of a large bedroom with a vertical white marble bathroom to emphasize the grandeur of the space. In this part of the apartment, the wood tones are darker like a contemporary interpretation of a traditional English house
