Interior Design in Toronto. Oak walls and floors for the presidential office

In Toronto, JCI studio designs the interior of an office on the last six floors of a building with a panoramic view of the beating heart of the metropolis, where the focal point is the clock tower of the historic station

It is a space designed to provide a variety of workspaces, ranging from open-concept collaborative spaces to private offices, meeting rooms and living and dining areas. The glass partition walls are framed in black and clearly delimit public and private spaces, making it easy to discern the direction of the visitor

The curved wooden corners ensure an easy passage from the entrance and reception to the various areas. The careful use of the texture on the various elements of the wall provides an intimate perspective of depth, light and shadow. A wooden wall, articulated in the reception area, creates a striking visual contrast with the glass partition on the opposite side

A mosaic of black tiles installed on the inside curve of a wall provides a shimmering effect with a continuous change of light and shade, depending on how the natural light changes. The use of natural white oak walls and floors in combination with an exposed white concrete ceiling and suspended luminaires creates an airy, light-filled procession

The spaces are mainly open concept, gently delimited by suspended circular lights, which create knots for the congregation without the limitations of the perimeter fence. The lightness and transparency of the design are further reinforced in the axis of the private offices along the main corridor through a series of perpendicular connective glass walls

A transparency that visually extends the corridor space and ensures lightness and continuity even in the narrowest and most enclosed parts of the layout
