The Mochi Stools development was through experimenting with unconventional padding and upholstery techniques, resulting in a simple design that highlights an obvious construction upholstery detail. These stools invite play and offer and unexpected touch to the user while contributing a new presence to the interior

Aiming to translate rotational molding techniques used in industrial manufacturing into a spontaneous hand crafted approach. The result was organic with seamless transitions between natural and synthetic materials. Temporary/flexible molds allow for forms to solidify in minimal wood frames. The plastic takes on fluid shapes while the wood frames serve as rational constricting structures
