Full and empty for a villa in Udine
Detached villa in Udine. Light and Stone used for the building immersed in the Countryside

A Detached Villa designed by Architect Antonio Guarneri, who chooses to work with stone and water, to reflect the space and blend in with the natural surroundings, almost as if to represent a ship immersed in a sea of cultivated fields

The project aims to represent a ship immersed in a sea of cultivated fields, as described by its designer, making it move, through the reflection of solids and voids on the infinity pool. Water and large windows are therefore the hallmark of the "Villa di Luce"

The project was conceived first of all from research, from the desire to discover the typical features of the place, the territory: wheat and stones were the main elements that determined the appearance of the house. Especially the use of stone, dark color, which creates a contrasting effect, made possible thanks to Geopietra products, large in size, with which it is possible to expand and to venture between endless possibilities of application, given the wide range of solutions, applying stone types that before would not have been possible due to difficult availability or high costs.

Another fundamental element was the light, the house dedicates the best exhibitions to each environment thanks to the careful study of the path that the sun can create inside given the precise design of the openings and appropriate shielding: a few essential holes facing north and large double-height windows towards the other cardinal points

And finally, the water that comes in three forms: that of the swimming pool, that of a natural lake and the rain in the pool. Its presence is flanked from the entrance gate by a natural lake. On the south side, however, is the swimming pool that flanks the opening windows of the living area, from which you can dive directly. Both during the day and at night, the water reflects on the whiteness of the walls and ceiling in the living room, thanks to the underwater lights at night

The rooms are placed in spatial continuity with each other, where the winter garden acts as a filter between them with succulents and citrus groves, which in addition to playing the important role of solar greenhouse and light well for all the environments that surround it acts as a filter with the external environment. A large open-space characterizes the living area, where the living room, which is elevated above the rest, is flanked by the water of the swimming pool to the south with views of the surrounding wheat fields

The material plays the main role and it is duplicated through the water that it reflects, without however taking away the lightness from the architecture that seems so suspended in the surrounding landscape
