Ceramics decorated as pieces of art. Fusion of animal and imaginary characters

Primates and MaskHayon are two collections of ceramic objects designed by Elena Salmistraro and Jaime Hayon respectively for the Bosa Trade, which has always carried out research focused on art

Primates is a collection of vases made of refined ceramics, whose figurative design is intended to recall the delicate relationship that exists between man and monkey. The monkey is in fact the animal that is most closely related to man, in the shape of its body, in its looks, in its movements: a power of resemblance that makes it fascinating and at the same time frightens us of the many unknowns about the nature of man himself

The vases embody the soul through the details and the colourful textures, with the aim of bringing this animal back into our domestic environment to seduce us with its power of life. The Primates collection was previewed at Maison&Objet and then enlarged with decorative ceramic plates, illustrated with sketches and inspirations by Elena Salmistraro

MaskHayon is inspired by the artist's personal world, by his now recognizable iconography that he has developed over twelve years of work. They represent the fusion of animal and imaginary characters and have captivating shapes that become pieces of art to hang on the wall that decorate our environment

They are thus transformed into unique elements that carry us to a faraway place, Africa, the tribes, their creativity and the magic of faraway places, lively cultures that have impressed the artist and wanted to reinvent their spirit with his vision and with the hand of Bosa have become wonderful sculptures of exceptional quality
